ID met NL is the result of a two year research project by the WRR. During the presentation Princess Maxima suggested that the Dutch identity 'does not exist'. The report explores topics including integration, dual nationality, and the instable nature of personal identity.
By utilizing the Dutch coastline as a metaphor, the design reinforces one of the main themes of the report: Identity is an ongoing and changeable process. Each chapter visually tracks the historical development of the Dutch coastline. Coastlines also run through the entirety of the book on each page, culminating at the end in an 'encyclopedia' of movements.
