When a house is demolished traditional archived blueprints don’t provide an accurate representaion of the way the home was used. These drawings record the personalization of an otherwise anonymous space, by treating personal belongings as part of the bluebrint.
The drawings are also prototypes for carpets. The carpets can be rolled up and moved, allowing former occupants to ‘transplant’ their old space into new homes.
These three drawings were made in houses on the Blankenstraat, Amsterdam, which were demolished by the local government in 2005.
